EAGLE DECORATED MILITIA SNARE DRUM, unlabeled Mexican War period or slightly earlier, bentwood construction with hemp roping and leather tighteners, all in original varnish with folksy polychrome painted spread-winged eagle standing atop a hemisphere with yellow scroll surround and 2 blue stars with yellow centers, with drum heads and snare; 16" diameter x 14" high. Snare & bottom head damaged, else VG+.
